Today was going to be a rest and laundry day before the next big multiday trip. With the strong west coast trough periodically sending out disturbances across the central United States, it appeared there would be several days of chase opportunities across the Plains. In fact there were tornadic storms in northwestern Nebraska and southeastern Montana today, but that was going to be difficult to reach after chasing in southwestern Oklahoma the night before. Indications were that tomorrow's chase opportunity would be in South Dakota, so I was anticipating an early departure for tomorrow.
