Summary....July 2002 was seasonably warm and humid in Oklahoma and featured many days with hit or miss showers and thunderstorms. Early in the month, Norman was hit with these showers more often than they were missed, with a brief but intense storm on the 6th producing enough wind to push over small trees. More widespread rains came early on the 29th as a cluster of thunderstorms moved southeast through the state.

Turlock CA began the 2002-03 rain season with zero rainfall. Rainfall is quite rare in Turlock during July, as 10 out of the past 16 Julys there have been totally rainless.
