Summary....Temperatures were near seasonal averages throughout the month of June 2001 in central Oklahoma. Precipitation was generally well below average in the region. OKC and Norman had one of their driest Junes ever as thunderstorms either kept missing these locales or dissipating once they moved overhead. What little rain that fell in central Oklahoma occurred on the 14th and 21st as fairly strong cold fronts moved through the area, and from the 27th through 30th as an upper-level low pressure system moved into the area from Tennessee. Locations to the northeast and east of the OKC area actually had significants amounts of rain from the 27th-30th.
Turlock CA had a trace of rain in June 2001. Their final rainfall total for the 2000-01 season was 13.39 inches, just above the season average of 13.25 inches.
